HOT/WARM DRINK AFTER MEAL

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer.
It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

DRINKING WATER IN EMPTY STOMACH

Method of Treatment-
1. As you wake up in the morning before brushing teeth, drink 4 x 160ml glasses of water2. Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45 minute3. After 45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal. 4. After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for 2 hours5. Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink 4 glasses of water at the beginning may
commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to 4 glasses per day.6. The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and others can enjoy a healthy life.
Number of Days required for treatment-1. High Blood Pressure - 30days2. Gastric – 10 days3. Diabetes – 30 days4. Constipation – 10 days5. Cancer - 180 days 6. TB – 90 days7. Arthritis patients should follow the above treatment only for 3 days in the 1st week, and from 2nd week onwards - daily.

Kalanchoe pinnata comes under Crassulaceae family.

Leaves contain mallic acid,isocitric acid and citric acids.Leaves are useful in treatment of gull stones,kidney stones,heat swells,wounds,discolouration of skin,ulcers,boils,diarrhoea,dysentery and tumours etc.

BAEL/Aegle marmelos

Bael bark contain coumarin and marmin.Roots contain phenols,auroptin,umbelliferon(flavonoid),marmin,lupen,psoralin,xanthotoxin and scopaltin.Fruit pulp contains mucilage,pectin,tannin,volatile oil.Also contain marmelosin.Leaves contain aegelin;Root and Stem contain umbelliferan,coumarin etc.

Unripe fruits used as a remedy for diarrhoea and dysentery.Root bark is used in intermittent fevers and as fish poisons.Ripe fruit is tonic,astringent,restorative,laxative,good for heart and brain.

INDIAN LIQUORICE/Abrus precatorius

Abrus seeds contain abrin,indole alkaloids and anthocyanins.Roots and leaves contain glycyrrhizin and races of abrin.Glycyrrhizin is expectorant,antiinflammatory and antiallergic while abrin is extremely toxic.

Seeds are used as contraceptive and treatment of chronic conjunctivitis;leaves and roots are used in treatment of asthma,bronchitis and fever;roots mixed with cow milk,made into a paste is used against diarrhoea and dysentery.

SWEET FLAG/Acorus calamus

The plant Sweet Flag is aromatic on account of presence of an essential oil,which contains the glucoside bitter priciple "Acorin".The oil is called as Calamus oil.It has an expectorant action and commonly used for asthma.It is also used as remedy for chronic diarrhoea.The rhizome is an appetizer and also useful in the treatment of epilepsy,delirium,hysteria , loss of memory and as a brain tonic.The powdered rhizomes and essential oil can be used as a safe insecticide due to presence of trans-isomer of asarone.The leaves and rhizomes are used to control lice.Its oils used for flavouring various items.In moderate doses,the oil produces antispasmodial action on the involuntary muscle tissue,inhibiting the excessive peristatic movements of the intestine.

Glory Lily/Gloriosa superba

Glory Lily has been used in the Indian system of medicine since time immemorial.Its tubers are reported to have been used as a tonic,antiperiodic,antihelminthic and also against snakebites and scorpion stings.The drug is a gasterointestinal irritant and may cause vomiting and purging.It is sometimes used for promoting labour pains and,conversely,also as an abortifacient.It is considered useful in colic,chronic ulcers,piles and gonorrhoea.It is used in local application against parasitic skin diseases and as a cataplasm in urological pains.The leaves,when appied in the form of a paste to the forehead and neck,are reported to cure asthma in children.The leaf juice is used against head lice.

The medicinal properties of the drug are due to presence of alkaloids ,chiefly colchicine and gloriosine.Colchicine used in treatment of gouts and cancer.Colchicine is extracted mainly from seeds.

PERIWINKLE/Catharanthus roseus
